{"id":3,"date":"2018-07-27T10:00:50","date_gmt":"2018-07-27T01:00:50","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.kuroda-law.gr.jp\/en\/?page_id=3"},"modified":"2019-10-28T09:34:54","modified_gmt":"2019-10-28T00:34:54","slug":"privacy-policy","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/www2.kuroda-law.gr.jp\/en\/privacy-policy\/","title":{"rendered":"Privacy Policy"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Kuroda Law Offices (the \u201c<strong>Tokyo Office<\/strong>\u201d), Kuroda Patent Offices, the Shanghai representative office of Kuroda Law Offices (the \u201c<strong>Shanghai Office<\/strong>\u201d), Kuroda Law Offices (Taiwan) (the \u201c<strong>Taiwan Office<\/strong>\u201d) and any related firms established primarily by the Tokyo Office or its representative attorney (The Tokyo Office, Kuroda Patent Offices, the Shanghai Office, the Taiwan Office and the related firms are referred to collectively as the \u201c<strong>KLO Group<\/strong>\u201d and individually as a \u201c<strong>Party<\/strong>\u201d.), and the attorneys (including registered foreign lawyers), patent attorneys, foreign attorneys and employees (including temporary and part-time employees) belonging to or working for the KLO Group (collectively with the KLO Group, \u201c<strong>we<\/strong>\u201d) will comply with the Act on the Protection of Personal Information (the \u201c<strong>APPI<\/strong>\u201d) and other related laws with regard to the handling of personal information relating to our work. We set forth our privacy policy concerning the handling of personal information relating to our work as follows and will handle personal information appropriately in accordance with it.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Acquiring personal information<\/strong><br \/>\nWe will acquire personal information appropriately.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Purposes of use of personal information<\/strong><br \/>\nWe will use personal information for the following purposes. (including its Shanghai head office and Beijing branch office; collectively with us, the \u201c<strong>Joint Users<\/strong>\u201d)<br \/>\n(3)\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Purposes of persons who jointly use personal information<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Working on matters the Joint Users are engaged for and contacting people regarding work on these matters<\/li>\n<li>Information, inquiries and applications for participation concerning lectures, seminars and the like that the Joint Users hold<\/li>\n<li>Transmitting and sending law-related information, greeting cards and the like<\/li>\n<li>Responding to various inquiries<\/li>\n<li>Learning about usage trends among users of the Joint Users\u2019 websites and social networking services (including those belonging to vendors the Joint Users have subcontracted to) and measuring the effectiveness of the Joint Users\u2019 advertising<\/li>\n<li>Performing the Joint Users\u2019 work as appropriate<\/li>\n<li>Recruiting, selecting and contacting the Joint Users\u2019 attorneys, patent attorneys and employees, providing human resource and labor management after recruitment, and creating statistical materials concerning recruitment activities<\/li>\n<li>Any purposes ancillary to the usage purposes above<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>(4)\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Person with responsibility for managing jointly used personal information<br \/>\nThe Tokyo Office<\/p>\n<p><strong>Safekeeping of personal information<\/strong><br \/>\nTo prevent personal information from being leaked, lost, damaged or otherwise adversely affected, we will take the necessary measures, and in having our employees handle personal information, we will supervise the employees as necessary and appropriate to ensure the safekeeping of the personal information.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Requests for notice of the purposes of use, disclosure, correction, discontinuation of use, etc. of personal information<\/strong><br \/>\nWhen we receive a request from the person whom personal information relates to for the disclosure, correction, addition or deletion, discontinuation of use, deletion, discontinuation of provision to third parties, or notification of the purposes of use of the personal information, we will confirm that the person making the request is the person whom the personal information relates to and respond to the request appropriately according to the provisions of the APPI.<br \/>\nPlease note that we may not be able to comply with a request if the request does not fulfill the requirements of the APPI or there is a cause allowing us to reject the request under the APPI or other laws.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Contact point for inquiries\u00a0<\/strong><br \/>\nPlease use the following for inquiries about this privacy policy or questions about how to request disclosure, etc.<\/p>\n<p><a class=\"btn btn-warning waves-effect waves-light\" href=\"https:\/\/upload.kuroda-law.gr.jp\/contact-priv-en\/index.php\">Mail<\/a><\/p>\n<p><strong>Amendments to this privacy policy<\/strong><br \/>\nWe may amend this privacy policy as necessary.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Confirming clients\u2019 identities<\/strong><br \/>\nWe may ask to verify identification pursuant to the Japan Federation of Bar Associations\u2019 Regulations Concerning Client Identity Verification and Record Preservation, Etc.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>For corporations:<\/li>\n<li>Confirming the corporation\u2019s name and the location of its head office or main office through its certificate of corporate registration (<em>t\u014dki jik\u014d sh\u014dmeisho<\/em>) or an equivalent document<\/li>\n<li>Confirming the name and title of the corporation\u2019s representative or the person who performs administrative duties as its agent or similar through their business cards or equivalent documents<\/li>\n<li>For natural persons:<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Confirming the client\u2019s name, address and date of birth through their seal registration certificate, driver\u2019s license, passport, health insurance card, pension book or residence card (alien registration certificate).<\/p>\n<p><strong>Access logs<\/strong><br \/>\nWe use cookies to collect access logs in addition to personal information so that we can learn about visitors\u2019 usage trends and measure the effectiveness of our advertising. The access logs contain the URL that was accessed, as well as other items such as the IP address, browser type and domain name.
